we appreciated that you didn’t try to make your earlier behaviour look better than it was. you admitted you avoided her, felt irritated by her, and later understood that she had been meeting the version of you who had nothing left to give. that doesn’t excuse it, but it shows what can change when we become less consumed by our own pain. the fact that you noticed her absence before seeing her again says a lot too. really honest piece, thank you for sharing it <3
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Change starts within us, not outside of us and sometimes it does take a while to actually realize this. It made me realize that dwelling in darkness and past traumas only creates more darkness, but never any light.
